By booking a portrait session with Floret en Frame, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms. This agreement is designed to ensure clarity, mutual understanding, and a thoughtful, seamless experience.
Floret en Frame offers heirloom portrait commissions. This is not a standard photography session, but a guided and intentional process to create a finished piece of artwork for your home. Portraits are created with a focus on authenticity, simplicity, and longevity. The goal is not volume, but the creation of a small number of meaningful images that will live on as part of your family’s story.
A nonrefundable session fee is required to secure your portrait commission. This fee reserves your date and covers the time and care dedicated to your session, including both the portrait sitting and the initial editing and preparation of your images.
Session fees are nonrefundable
One reschedule is permitted within ninety days, based on availability
Cancellations result in forfeiture of the session fee
The session fee does not include finished artwork. All heirloom pieces are selected and commissioned separately during your design appointment following the session.
Portrait sessions are intentionally unhurried and thoughtfully guided.
Sessions typically last up to forty five minutes per child
Active photography time is approximately fifteen to twenty minutes
One outfit per child is selected in advance
Sibling portraits are included
Children are not asked to perform. The session is designed to allow them to settle naturally, with gentle direction as needed.
Wardrobe is a central part of the portrait.
Clients may:
Bring heirloom garments
Select from the curated studio wardrobe
Selections are made with care, favoring natural fabrics, soft tones, and simple silhouettes. Bold patterns, logos, and trend-driven pieces are avoided to preserve a timeless result.
Following your session, a design appointment will be scheduled.
During this appointment:
You will review a curated gallery of approximately ten to twenty images
Select one to three images per child
Finalize framing, matting, and presentation
Your order is placed at this time, and final payment is collected.
Floret en Frame does not offer digital-only sessions.
All portraits are created as finished, framed heirloom artwork. The process is centered on producing a tangible piece designed to live within your home.
A corresponding digital file is included as a secondary keepsake
Digital files are for personal archival use only
Printing rights are not included
All physical artwork is produced exclusively through Floret en Frame to ensure archival quality and consistency.
Final artwork is produced in partnership with a specialized third party framing studio located in Opelika, Alabama. Each piece is printed and constructed using museum-grade materials, including archival pigment inks, one hundred percent cotton fine art paper, and conservation framing methods.
Because each heirloom is custom made by hand, Floret en Frame does not directly control the production process. While we work closely with our framing partner and select them for their craftsmanship and consistency, production timelines and outcomes are dependent upon their studio.
Custom framing typically requires approximately three weeks from the time your order is placed. Once completed, your artwork is shipped directly to your home, and shipping and delivery notifications are provided.
In most cases, clients receive their finished heirloom within three to four weeks following their design appointment and final order placement. As each piece is handcrafted, slight variations and timing differences are a natural part of the process.
Once your order has been released for production and shipment, Floret en Frame is not responsible for delays, damage, or loss incurred during transit. Any such matters will be addressed with the carrier and/or production partner as appropriate.
Sessions may take place in Los Olivos, California, or in your home by arrangement.
Travel within Santa Barbara County and San Luis Obispo County is included. Travel outside these areas may incur additional fees, which will be discussed prior to booking.
For families traveling to Los Olivos, a preferred guest rate is available at the Fess Parker Wine Country Inn, where Floret en Frame clients are welcomed as part of an extended experience. This offering is reserved for confirmed clients and is designed to complement your portrait session while creating a comfortable and considered stay for your family.
If your child becomes ill, we ask for a minimum of twenty four hours’ notice to reschedule your session. As a mother, I understand that children do not follow schedules, and their well being always comes first. If your child is unwell, please do not feel pressure to proceed. It is far more important that they feel comfortable and at ease when they are photographed.
One reschedule within ninety days of your original session is included as part of your commission, based on availability. Additional rescheduling requests are considered with care, but repeated changes or late cancellations may result in forfeiture of the session fee.
This policy is in place to allow flexibility where it is truly needed, while also respecting the time and preparation that goes into each session.
Floret en Frame retains the right to use images for portfolio and marketing purposes unless otherwise requested in writing.
Clients may share images of their artwork for personal use. Images may not be altered, cropped, filtered, or used commercially without prior written permission.
By proceeding with your booking, you acknowledge that this is a commissioned artwork process, not a digital photography service.
The final result is a finished heirloom piece, created with intention and designed to be lived with, preserved, and passed down.
